Oh dear! Yeah I had the option of that one or the Khaki one - as soon as I saw the pink, it was definitely Khaki for me!!!

Still at least with the pink we will all be able to spot you when you are down the beach!

My 8m is pink and black looks good in the air and has a added bonus that when girls walk past on the beach they allways come past and have a look at the pritty kite. was not my first choice or my last choice but the only one i could get but i would rather have the pink than not have it at all. I still got the 12m in white and blue which was my first choice.

I managed to get out on my new 10mtr this arvo and as Waxman said they actually look quite good in the air.
It was hard to really tell how good the kite was because for the last 2 weeks I have been flying mainly my 7.5 Bandit fully lit in winds in the high 20s - 30 or so knots in smooth water around the Exmouth - Carnarvon area so all of a sudden to have to kite in 16-17knots (according to the Ocean Reef graph) in choppy conditions back in Perth just didn't seem like much fun even with a crispy new kite. I would normally be on my 13 in that sort of wind as my 9 never really got me going properly (upwind with ease, jumps etc) until around 20knots ((95kg on a 135FLX) but to my suprise I was managing to get upwind and get some air etc with only the extra metre of kite but about 4 knots less wind. Once I got used to the conditions I realised it definetly feels quite grunty for a 10 and seems to charge upwind as a lot of the guys out were doing the walk on 12s and 13s.
I think my 13 will get used a lot less this year because the extra little bit of grunt of the new 10 compare to the old 9 should be enough get me going in the light summer seabreeze conditions where I was just struggling on the 9.
I didn't really have a good enough fly to post a review yet but I will say it felt sweet

range of riders from 80kg 135x39 Board to 95kg 131x39 Board.

This was in the low end range of this kite, and it needed some slight depower tuning to avoid over sheeting. However when the wind moved to the 17kt range the sweet spot area was well kicking in. This is nearly spot on par with the 12m kite I used last season, but with at least 5 extra knots of top end control.

It seems to me to behave like a 12m kite in speed etc. at its low end and then like a 10m in its sweet range. but doesn't get past this sweet spot speed in the top end.

So far it has impressed 100% of riders demoing it.
for someone around 80kg this could be your largest kite unless you are a real low wind junkie.

hope this info helps those looking for details.

Um be careful when purchasing something over the phone, when I rang the shop to see if the Bandit 2s were in they said they were but they only had 1 10mtr left as the others were pre-sold.
I asked them what colour it was and when they replied its black and white according to the tag I said that will do so pulled out my credit card and purchased it over the phone without even seeing it.

We also recieved white and pink kites in our shipment that said white/black on the bag. Be sure to check.

For someone at 95kgs what would you suggest as my big kite, a 12 or 14 bearing in mind I tend to use a skimboard in light winds.

It really depends on what you classify as light winds.
If it's a desperation kite that you will only use when it's very light then the 14m would be an option. Otherwise I would pick the 12m every time.
The 12m should get you going on a skim in around 10-12knt

I have a 12 and 8 dos and weigh 95 kgs what you need to look at is what kites you already have and what wind range you get out of them and what style of riding you like doing. i find the 12m is ok fore skiming in 12kts and great for wake style from 15 to 20. the top end of this kite depending on experience is around 25kts for big boosts. the 8m i can ride a tt in 15 but is great 20 to 30 for unhooked wake style riding. So what i am getting at is if you want the most range out of your gear the 14m would be good from 10kts by 12 or 13kts you would be well powered to pull most moves and by 20kts you would be lit and having a ball. I should be able to take out a 14 dos this weekend but think it would have a similar range to my 15 rev.

I currently have a 12,10,8 quiver but I was wondering whether to swop the 12 for a 14. By the look of it you reckon just a 12,8 quiver would suffice (but I love the 10 )

If you have a 10 then keep it and do the 12 to 14 swap, too much overlap 10/12.

I'm off to Sandy Point with a 10m for the long long weekend.

Any one already some experience with the big size DOS.
My bodywight is 95 kg and i have a 131x40 board. I´m looking for a 2 kite quiver.
I want to kite in winds 13-35 knts wind. I already had some exchange of thought with Ral Inn and i think 12-9m2 will be the best quiver.... BUT !!!!! what do you guys think about 14m2-9m2 quiver ? Or will the 14m2 be to big and slow?
Please help..... Who has some experience with 14m2 DOS

Hi all!

Thought I might revive this one. I'm waitifor my Dos to arrive and dying to get on the water, but until then living vicariously through you!

Anyone got some pic of the Dos flying? And what wind ranges have blokes about 85kgs been getting on a 10m? (I'll be riding a 135 F-One Trax III)

Cheers!

Hey guys im looking for some help on size choices
I weigh 90-95kgs
Ride an underground flx 135
Kites : 15m F-one Bandit , 2008 eclipse Nano 12m and 9m

Anyways im looking to replace my 12 and 9m Nanos. Now im really not sure what to get. Im concerned that the 12m DOS will have 2 much of an overlap with my 15 and the 10 will be 2 small.Last years 11m would have been the right size i think. Obviously my choice of smaller kites depends on the mid sized choice.

I'd appreciate any and all help guys

Thanks

^ I'd go the 10, it will go as early as last years 11, there will be to much overlap with the 12DOS-15 IMO.
My last years 13 will just about become redundant now that I have the 10 DOS.
I am same weight, same board and have been blown away with the performance and upwind ability of the 10DOS, 135 FLX combo.
Then start saving your money for a 7.

P.S. I have sent you a PM.

just started using a 12M dos- and first impression...awesome kite- was able to hold it down no worries in 20knots on the 3rd strongest setting and was riding in ~11knots the day before that. Haven't really tried it in 25+knots- the wind range is unbelievable, you have a point about 'overlap' with your 15M- I think a 12M is able to fly and perform in ~13-30knots a 'standard' board size...

Well after chasing a demo I managed to spot a 9 metre that a nice girl had on the beach and she kindly offered me a ride, Well I went out and back twice and on the 3rd time knew that I had to have one, It turns fast, has a nice small bar that requires only one hand to operate and this thing boosts huge! with minimum effort, There is pooloads of power and more than my 10m Rhino that I was riding 5 minutes before. It looks great and not like every single other kite on the beach and I was grateful to be able to ride it for about 45 mins in a 19-22 knot breeze
I was lucky enough to pick up what I believe is one of the last 9 metres in Oz until Jan/Feb and it was the colour I wanted (blue and White). I got it yesterday morning and rode it straight out of the bag with no adjustments.(Sorry to those other 2 guys that called that same shop within 20 minutes of me and missed out)
The only thing I will do is sort out a proper stopper ball so when I let the bar go to flip it after a back roll the kite doesn't completely depower, The existing system will become less effective as the clear tubing over the main line gets worn by the grub screw from the stopper ball.
To that girl on the beach I say thankyou for the offer and that you not only put me right onto the last available 9 metre but saved me making a big mistake getting the 10 instead.
Right now I am as happy as a pig in s**t

Hey guys,

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped me on my choice between a 12 and 10m DOS.( There must have been over 20 of you.)
I went with the 10m and am thrilled with it. Had it out in 25-35 knots of frikken gusty wind. It handled the gusts beautifully , a whole lot better than last years! Later that afternoon the wind died down to about 14-16knts with lulls of about 10 . I decided i wanted to see what the low end was , much to the amusement of the local guys in HK. To my surprise it worked just fine, upwind no problem and through the lulls its so quick that they weren't an issue. A few guys came out and joined me on their 11 and 12s and they had about the same power as i did. I weigh 95kgs and the average weight of the other kiters must be about 55-60kgs.

This kite will go perfectly with my 15m Bandit, now im just trying to decide if i should be going with a 7 or 8 to complete the quiver.

I highly recommend this as a mid sized kite. Just an FYI i have no brand affiliation whatsoever.

Good Winds

Hi guys
Have ridden the 10 a fair bit and have an 8,10,12 in stock but you can get 5.5 for really windy days. And its still plenty strong enough once you get a solid 30 and I still have my 10 out then.
Have fun

the 9m dos is great in 18-22knot, right in the sweet spot.
also good in 15-20kn with a bit of swinging through the lulls,
im75kg on a 136 tt.

I give it 5 big cheesy grins
