Rider: 85kg, intermediate,advanced
Style: Freeriding, Surf
Weather: 12-25knots
Build Quality: 9/10
Satisfaction: 10/10
Disclosure: I sell these kites

My Comments:
I was cautious at first, could this kite really to what the shop said? Normally I ride a 12m in 12-15 Knots, but Ben from A1 Kiteboarding assured me the kite would deliver ample power.

The kite is a DELTA with 4 lines.

The conditions started out as 12- 15kts, and had power to take me up-wind. This was all I needed to purchase the kite. Wow! remember this is a 10.5m

But when the conditions reached 25kts later in the day, that was when the kite showed its strength. Normaly I ride a Switchblade or Flow airush. The GT had so much boost that, im man enough to admit it, I got a bit frightened.

But once I got used to it, the boost and turning speed were so sexy, that two girls got pregnant on the beach by just being in the same area.

The "Auto Relaunch" sounds a bit far-fetched, but it works, just pull on the bar and kite comes up by its self.

You have to love the Germans. This kite is German designed and build quality is second to non.

Get Your self one today, and your Switchblade kite, like mine, will make a sexy boat cover.

So in your profile it says you are Tim Gent, then I go to your kite you have for sale and it tells me to call Ben with the number for A1 kiteboarding....?

So who are you ?...my guess is you are Ben Howell again.....assuming this is correct..

1.you are a beginner to intermediate rider at best...
2.you don't own a switchblade, and definitely don't use it for a boat cover.
3.you are the distributor for this product in south australia and are pimping it hard without disclosing the fact.

The kite may be good but don't slag off other kites to promote it.

Edit- you have updated it now to show you sell the kites. It is pretty pimp still though and misleading....

Edit 2- you have now removed the kite you had for sale, covering your tracks hey ?

Nice work tommy 69, seabreeze is full of them I know of one kiteshop owner who constantly posts on seabreeze and has about 50 log in names.
Lets keep it real yes the kites are nice and the price is even better but no need for shop pimps/distrubutors writing crap like that.
Lets keep it real hey.

I'm just having a hard time trying to understand how you got this kite from a shop but yet you sell these kites as stated in your disclosure?? So where exactly did you get the kite from again?? From a shop or was it one of the ones you sold? Did you fly one of Bens then decide to sell them as well?

And Ben has a shop? I guess you could call the boot of a car a shop. Some people call it a home I guess!!!

But what had me really confused was the weight of the rider!! I'm sure Ben weighs more like 110kg!!!

And this would have to be one of the worst posts I have ever seen!!

Please note he did not originally disclose he was selling the kites and has removed links to other stuff that proved who he was as previously stated !

I should think that it is about time that Laurie did something about these obvious pimps.

thankyou all for your concern regarding A1Kiteboarding and Tim Gent.

Yes; A1 sold a CORE Gt to Tim.
No; He doesn't sell CORE GT's but casually works with A1
Yes; He loves the GT and has ordered a second 7m from A1

Tim called me and informed me of his review, and subsequent responses.

A1 believes everyone is free to make comment, negative or positive.

All I can add is that just about every person that tries the "multiple login" thing has eventually fallen on their sword.

Why would you have a multiple login. Unless you have a softcock, & give a **** what other people think, & you cant stand up to your word.
The core is a good kite, just as good as most others, I am dumbfounded that people think that a switchblade or slingshot is the best kite out there. When there are so many kites, that are so much better.
The kites are so good now that you don't need two or three kites for your quiver, but two kites for surfing & one or two kites for freestyle, most likely of different brands.
Some kites are good at all round & some kites that excel in the surf or flat water.
May be kitemareaus works for the shop, dose n't own the shop.

Lets keep it real on Seabreeze with a fake name in our profile, nice one Lonerider!
Well keep it real anyway, tell us who is this mega imposter and how you come by this factual knowledge?
How do you know for sure this person has at least 50 log ins?
Name and shame, keep it real as you say, don't be a hypocrite.

There is a certain galah that has at least 50 log ins, but he is not me!

I am sure that the Core gt is a very good kite, as is the bandit and the slingshot, and north or naish or EH, I choose to ride cabrinha and I think they are the best kite for me....and I have ridden them all and yes I do know what I am doing.

I get a little sick of people pimping things they have a financial interest in. If it is good the general public will let everyone know.

Tommy, who gives a **** what you think, its just a review about a kite, how do you know who's pimping and who's not, who cares, i dont sell the kites i ride, its just a good way to inform the general public about a kite and give information that could assist in someones decision making, at the end of the day, people will buy what they want! Thats the whole point of reviews isnt it?

Hi Tommy,

Shops and team riders writing reviews on new gear is the best and fastest way to get informatin about a product to the general public. Often the product will be a pre-production prototype so you'll get to hear a riders perspective before it is released to the public.

It (review) generally, is not going to lead to a sale of a kite, but may lead to the reader seeking out a demo ride. The demo ride is where the decision to buy is made. If the buying rider reads a review and finds the total opposite when demoing, then the reviewrs credibility is shot to bits and it's likely they wont make a sale.

Some shops/pimps write a bunch of glowing crap about poor products, it isn't too difficult to spot an honest review IMHO. Most of the time shops write the best reviews with the most detail. It is designed to give you an insight as to whether the kite may be appropriate for a particular riding style or rider so as they may seek out a demo.

If you look back at most of the reviews, the threads are started by shops/sellers which then invites other riders to comment or write their own reviews. At the end of the day, if you write crap and someone who is not affiliated writes a review opposing the original shop views, this will raise some serious suspicions about the reviewers credibility and the truth WILL come out in the wash.

The Kite Reviews Section would be pretty quiet if shops, team riders and pimps never posted thier reviews. You probably still wouldn't have heard of Core GT's

Good winds,

The reason I took issue with this post was that there is in my opinion a false name and the person posting failed to disclose their financial interest in the product.

Hydra- obviously I have gotten under your skin, you have offered to not only import Genetrix kites but other brands as well...why would people lie to me and others about what you had offered them ?

I do not have a problem with shops or team riders reviewing kit but affiliations need to be disclosed to give people a better idea of how much attention to pay to the review.

Once again, who cares? Its just a review, people make their own minds up no matter who posts a review, this review is about the core, no one asked about an ids, who cares if you ride the official kook kite of 09. And i dont import any kites, a few mates had tried and used most kites over the last 8 or so years and were looking for something different, something that would suit speed kiting, so they bought over a quiver of hydra's and that was it, no one sells them out a boot of a car and no one is pimping the brand, mabey you should get off this pimping crap and just enjoy kiting, everyone deserves to see what is out there and have a personal opinion, and hence review a kite.

Dont you have nothing better to do than to investigate pimp or no pimp, one review or 2 are meanningles for anybody with half a brain, dont like it move on, life is short, it will all come up in the wash anyway as kitehard said.

tommy69er,
geez, thats the second poster on here you say is selling Genetrix kites. Iv'e been known to brag about Hydra's as well, so do I sell them also? Strange that when I wanted a new Hydra recently I couldn't find anyone in Aust. selling Genetrix kites out of a car boot or a shop!!!
PS. If you know who really does please tell.

we wish , vintage in the Barossa 12 hour 7 day weeks plus vintage festival. Ive never had chance to go which sucks, always seems like a good time is had by all.
anyway back on subject about core gt. We have one in the Barossa crew and ive had a chance to ride it. the core looks very well built with good quality materials used, it performs well with quick turning and fast flying speed. Low down power is really good for its size , I reckon I could get going and go up wind in around 14 knots . I havent had a real good chance to thrash it but hopefully soon.
