Hi All,
My father does kiting. He is looking at two kites, one is a 2008 Naish cult 12sqm. The other one is a 2008 Switchblade 10sqm.
Which one is the better of these two, in terms of use.
cool
In stock form the 2008 Cult is great at smoothing out gusty conditions, still turns well when sheeted out and gives a nice smooth ride. However, bar feedback is pretty ordinary (hard to feel where the kite is in the sky during rotations). In modified form (converted to a direct rear line bridle) the 08 Cult is quiet nice.
But in stock form I would leave the 08 Cult alone and go for the Switchy.
I own a Switchblade 3 (2008) 10m and I've flow the 2009 and 2010 cults. I wasn't thrilled with either cult, and I can't imagine the 2008 was better then the new ones.
I like my SB3. It's a bit of a pain in that depower is limited (you have to adjust the lines on the kite to get more than what's available from the depower system in the bar) but it flies really well, has plenty of power and is a breeze to relaunch.
