I've just bought a 08 Rhino 10m and it came with a 09 5th element bar - not 100% but pretty sure this bar is suitable with the 08 Rhino - any advice?
Also, with the 5th element bar - the manual recs for smaller kite the inside bar setting and for larger outside - does 10m fall under larger or smaller? I've tuned it to the inside but doesn't seem right, a bit sluggish.
will move to outside and see if it feels better.
Only had it out for 15minutes, so not much chance to play yet.
any tuning ideas for the 10m or should the standard factory settings be okay?
The 08 rhino bar pressure seems extremely light compared to 07, is that correct?
Things I learnt with North 07/08 kites
1. Make sure the fifth line depower cord has some slack in it otherwise Rhinos will overfly and tuck under often
2. Have the lines on the outside of the bar, you'll appreciate after a long day on the water
3. Pump the sucker up tight, These things are built strong but need to be pumped hard to stop them scrunching into a ball and turning inside out, when you go to put the valve plug in you can lose 1-1.5 psi in about a second so give it more than you need and be quick with the plug.
4. Fiddle with the pigtail location, the 2 or 3 inches of change really make a difference in turning speed.
5. Make sure that none of your leading edge plastic battens are broken inside their sleeves, the plastic is brittle and can cut through the sleeve and even puncture the LE
6. I found the instruction book for the bar and lines not that useful and had to spend a while tuning for the right balance of power vs depower.
7. Enjoy it, I did and reckon the Rhinos were the shiz of the kites form those years.
Cheers mate,
I've moved the lines to the outside and shortened my back lines by one knot and it made a big difference. Very sweet now.
Amazing power and very stable.
Will still move the pigtails to the wing tip - as aposed to the factory setting a couple of inches up and see what happens.
plenty of fun to be had!!!
Enjoy.
