I've had a chance to ride the 2007 nobile 555-124 , 666-129 and shin pro recently....
on the shin pro , this thing is shweet. its top deck is done in high gloss with the nobile honeycomb window , and the bottom is in the normal mattier finish. I found that the 555 and 666 were similar but the 666's more directness and higher feedback could be easily felt... the shinn feels stable and "strong" under the footpad area but the tips and rail at the end is there to be used and to bend and carve..... it's a nice combo that overall feels smooth but has easy upwind with the stiffened central / mid rail section but the tips help hugely dealing with chop or giving you a nice bouncey pop. It also carves extremely well for a twintip.
overall i think the shinn feels stiffer in the mid section and flexyer at the tips ( maybe as flexy as the 666), good for carving and a very nice feeling for freestyle aswell
will answer on chops behalf...
it was a 130, weighting in at 78kgs and he rode it at newcastle... but will have it in Melbourne for a while.
I also had a go, liked it aswell. One thing I noticed as soon as I got on it was there was no water in the eyes. I'm riding a 555 atm and in the waves i always get a bit a of spray. I also think its a firmer ride than the 555 and better in the waves.
a mate of mine has the Shinn board. He is able to scratch the bottom with his fingernail. Is that normal or is it a defect?
i have had the shinn pro for two wks ridden it 6times and this is the best board i have ridden in 07 or ever and i normally go through about 7 to 8 boards a year of different types so i can give honest feedback to students and local riders the rails are super sharp the ride is super smooth and there is an insane amount of pop the feedback to rider is unsurpassed can make any landin to blind seem just to easy mark shinn knows what he is doin when it comes to boards and since i own a kiteshop ive been fortunate to have ridden in 07 already a jaime pro 131*39.5 and a cardboard 133*40 also ridden the undergrounds 132*39 the shinn pro board is the absolute **** im that stoked this is the board im ridin for the rest of the year

I had a look at one in SOS surf the other day - soooo flexi felt like it was going to bust in half, most high tech board I have ever seen.
The Shinn is more flexi than the Nobile 666. Shinny rides it alot in the waves. the 666 is slightly stiffer compared to the 2006 666 but it is also a bit wider. I personnally think the Shinn is too advanced for 9 out of 10 riders.
prokiterUK, Could you please explain to all of us, how the Shinn is too advanced for 9 out of 10 riders??????? most of the new boards are coming out have more flex. Please Explain????
The 2006 Shinn was a pretty stiff board and alot of riders had a tough time riding it so for 2007 Shinny wanted the board to be slighty softer. They are great boards, what I'm saying is the 666 is more suited for the average freestyler compared to the Shinn. Sorry for the confusion
I would have to disagree after coming from a 666 onto the shin.... it has an awesome feel.... and considering I let a beginner have a go on it who was having lots of difficulty going upwind on his 132 board..He went upwind straight away on the shinn that was actually smaller than his board. It carves alot better than the 666 in the waves?
because it doesn't suit your style, donesn't mean your style is what 9/10 people ride ;)
