looking for some advice
i am in the process of buying a new 12/13 meter kite but unsure which one to go for, out of the '08 flexifoil atom 12m, or the '08 slingshot rev 13m
i have currently got a 10m airush flow and wiegh 80kg, but looking for another kite for the less windy days

Both kites will have qualities that you like.
Test ride both in the conditions you will be riding then make up your mind.
Questions like this are big temptations for pimps! Your own opinion is the one that matters.

But I have flown both kites, 11M rev and 12M Atom08
Both are outstanding construction quality, both in the kite and bar and lines, but I would give the edge to Flexi, which means it is really high quality!
The Rev flies faster and turns a bit faster with less power in the turns, the Atom is only slightly slower in forward speed, turns less tigth but with more power in the turns. I think the Flexi has more depower at the bar, but both have heaps to handle a wide wind range.
The Flexi has more bottom end, top end is similar, but depends a bit on the rider too!
Rev has a fair bit more lift and natural upwind ability. Rev has unique flagging front line safety system, Flexi has a mini fifth line system that depowers the kite 90% onto both front lines. Relaunch on both kites is easy, Rev slightly easier, but Flexi is simple if you use the opposite frontline technique a bit on the straight downwind launches.
Both come in excellent backpacks, try to test them.

i have flown both and would say you cant go wrong with the REV, the atom was good but the rev has an advantage over all the other kites on the market i have tried.
I have flown the atom twice and the rev 1.5 times and loved the atom but for ease of use the REV is awesome.
go to choice and you can demo both and make up your own mind but they are both 9m demos.
If your into riding unhooked in the surf, try the Flexifoil Atom. Have 12/9/7m and am intermediate rider, the Flexi is so light on the bar, hooked and unhooked. Easy relaunch, Stable, Solid construction, easy relaunch and oh so simple bar.
I dont think you will find an unhappy Atom rider this year.
Have had this neat surf stoke after every ride since i got them. My unhooked riding is nearly past beginner and learning all the time

i agree atoms are fun... but really how does a kite feel "light on the bar unhooked" ?
quite simple really, you depower the kite so much that it has no response even when your unhooked
