Mate..

Go see Kitemuddies at Oldbar (close to you at Coffs). I recon Craig is one of the best teachers going around... They use good quality gear (all BWS) and are pretty well priced IMO... and its a great safe spot to learn...

My misses had a 3hr lesson in Sydney (i won't say with who) and they were hopeless and she got F**k all from them, could barely fly the kite with any confidence, was hating it and didnt want to keep going with the sport..

While up at Old Bar before xmas she saw them their giving other ppl lessons and gave it another go.. Craig was excellent and had her flying confidently and loving the sport in the first lesson... Were gonna go up again soon to get her on the board...

Even better than that is that she is forcing me (thats my story and i'm sticking to it) buy new gear so she can use my old gear...

Cheers

I had lessons in Sydney and they were terrible as well. Get someone who is into teaching not a company into making money.

Old bar is about a four hour drive from Coffs so its not exactly close. Coffs is about the same distance from Old bar as Sydney is from Old Bar, plus the highway is pretty crap till Port Macquarie. When I lived in Coffs back in the early to mid naughties there was a kitesurfing school operating on Park Beach close to the entrance to Coffs Creek.

Are they still operating?
