Hi guys,
While we are talking about locations, in October I am going to Salamander Bay. Has anyone ever kited there? Any do's and don'ts ? I am planning to take a 10 and a 14 M.
Please let us know if you have experience with that place.
Cheers,
Mike
Hi mate,
Head to the Aquatic Club on SUNDAY from 9.30am, its located on the beach - Seaview Crescent in Soldiers Point. We race from about 1.
Depending on the breeze, there are a few decent places to launch in the area - especially Bagnalls Beach reserve for a NE'er to SE'er or even a W'erly!!
pssac.juniors@gmail.com or the website pssac.com are the places to go for more info - we are trying to get a few Kiters and Sailboarders involved so get in touch!!
Ollie
Hey Ollie, we have 4-5 kiters on 70cm race boards that would be keen to do a race day up there. Will have to arrange soon. Sounds really good.
Hi Everyone,
Just got back from Salamander Bay. I just like to share with you one of the best places in NSW for Westerlies. (Except lakes).
It's called Birubi Beach. Saturday I was rocking there on my 10 Rally in winds pumping up to 30 knots sometimes. Shallow waters pretty far from the shore. Nice waves and really good conditions.
Most of the times they have lifeguards there. So stay away from the flags.
If you go there on a Saturday, you'll probably get your picture taken by 1000 people, as they have heaps of tourists that never seen a kite in their life :)
I also spoke with some locals and they told me that place is always windy. So seems like a safe bet in the winter. :)
ha ha haha ha you forgot to tell them its one of the biggest great white breading grounds in the southern hemisphere ![]()

For kitesurfing.....I'll take my chances...
