Hi All, new to this forum, but not kite surfing or forums :-)

I'm living in Canberra at the moment, and I'm really interested to hear from folks who know the coast line from Long Beach (Batemans Bay down to Merimbula). Does not seem to be covered in the locations section of this site and I was hoping to talk to peeps who knew the area and could give some recommendations, info etc and if you're interested or willing to have me tag along some time to some of these spots.
I would say I'm well past the beginner stage, but not having been on the water for just over a year now I'd want to start with some mellow stuff before heading into the waves again. Would also love to get on some of those lagoons right on the edge of the sea for some of that buttery smoothness.

Is this because of bans, restrictions or just unsuitable beaches?

Give the guys down in Culburra (Shoalhaven) a call, it is an easy 2 hour drive from Canberra.
Daniel, Randall and Nathan run "Kiteburra" and are a great bunch of guys. Give Daniel a call and he should be able to give you the heads up.

I am a 28 yr old lift tech / electrician & I also live in canberra and kiteboard.
I have tried to get out on the lake a couple of times but the conditions have to be just so and when they are im always working.
I have only been to a place called Bendalong that is ok. It has an inlet to a lake that would only work during a south easter or east winds and the beach is good aswell. I was down there about 3 months ago and met a local kiter that said there isn't to many kiters around that part of the coast.
I will be back down in a couple of weeks.
I'm a newbie from Canberra just started kiteboarding. I'll be living down at broulee next year. Keen to hook up with some more guys from Canberra especially in the next month - just pm me.
