Hi all.
Im new to the sport and have been learning in Vietnam for a few weeks. Im heading back to NSW to live in February/ March and want to move to an area where I can kite in the afternoons and weekends when it on.

So my question is, where is the best place to live.

Cheers Chris

I would choose Brighton-Le-Sands or Dolls Point. Even Kogarah.

I live on the northern beaches and hate it for having 50% less wind than what Botany Bay has.

no offence Mike but you need to get out more If you think botany bay is the best place to kite and live. Sure botany bay gets good wind, but it sucks as a kiting area. Choppy, crowded, no waves, other water traffic, parking issues ect ect. I would say most areas of NSW offer good kiting spots. I live on the central coast and think it sh!ts all over sydney as a place to live and kite. But there are many good areas down south and up north too.

From that point of view, Yes, you are absolutely right. But what do you do if you need to make a living as well. It's kind of impossible to get a decent job down the south Coast or Up north.

If I could afford it, I would leave Sydney tomorrow for some of the best places NSW has to offer. There are a million of them in NSW.

theres 2 places really close to botany that 1. has even more wind and flat water and
the 2nd has side shore waves.

cant tell you where tho, sorry

No Worries, Ive thought about Botany or the Central Coast. Ive a boat and will live on it so both these places would be good. Cheers Chris

I reckon the jervis bay area would be my pick. There are plenty of locations to handle most wind directions and there is a choice of waves nearby. Also the wind down there is pretty good.

Been there a couple of times and the place is infested with poleys.
The kiting scene and most consistent winds on the east coast are botany bay.
I'd live there if I were you...
