Hopefully someone took my tether from the pole at Pinnaroo with aim of returning it to me Blue and white rope with stainless carabiner.
If not some sad sack has knocked it. Being the sceptic that I am i'm leaning toward the latter.
Yes this is typical behaviour, albeit fisherman, the public or another Kiter. In my haste of leaving Pinnaroo, over a period of 3 years, I have left 3 or more tethers on the beach post, only to return early the next day to find it gone. Now I triple check to ensure I have gathered up all my possessions before departing.
I had my tether taken from next to my kite bag on Sorrento beach last week. I saw a distinctive character standing next to my bag while kiting offshore. After packing up and driving home I saw him, stopped and asked if he collected a rope from the beach. He pulled the tether from his bag. Asked why he taken such a pissant object, he said that he "didn't put 2 and 2 together".
With all the tether 'going' instances...there's been a few... I thought I'd mention I just have it on the back of my harness have done for years
It serves its purpose helping tow windsurfers in if there mast breaks etc ..or collecting&dragging a foil/wing that blows downwind by attaching it to your back etc...or attaching a second lost board..(etc)...
Then when or # if # I need it to land I just dangle the kite at 9 or 12 or wherever off its load &where there's no hazards...and whip it off and put it around the post ..
It's not very difficult to do and then noone takes it ..![]()
Just mentioning this
P.s glad U found it
