Realplayer,
Bugger about the kite.... wondering if you have had more lessons..(as suggested on your previous thread).if not...go get some more....firstly..they will teach you rule no.1: DON'T KITE IN OFFSHORE WIND unless you have a boat to pick you up. Very simple rule 2: LEARN HOW TO SELF RESCUE...easy to swim to the kite, roll your lines up, lay on the kite and start swimming. Good luck finding your kite, maybe post in a NZ kiteing forum!!!

No offence RealPlayer......so glad you don't kite anywhere near me... If you keep up the attitude and bad kiting policies you seem to currently have, even after the good advise that kind, thoughtful EXPERIENCED kiters are giving you... www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19742
you might end up a getting your local kiting spot closed or even worse....become a statistic... Kiting is a great sport, and s--t unfortantly does happen, even to the most experienced kiter....the point is.... our job is to try to minimise it... which means following some basic rules(riding in offshore is not one), and self control. Sometimes showing a little maturity and taking a little advise will take you a long way (safely).
Bugger about losing your kite, every kiter will feel for you, maybe this will remind you that this sport needs to shown some respect!! Have Fun.... be safe......don't to be impatient and do stupid things and listen to those that know and are trying to help you.

I'd definently advice getting some more lessions. If you cant afford it try having a group lessions with some friends to cut down the cost. You could chose to do the IKO course, once you finish that you will have all the basic down. Then you can just go out and practice! Thats your safest option, but can be costly. You should be able to get it all down in 3 lessions, and then you can also be certified at the same time. It's estimated in a few years to come that most beaches will require kiters to have there licence. May as well get in quick, while your still learning. If you get yourself in a situation lie that just remeber to say calm...

Best of luck finding your kite.

i would have to agree with everyone in this post, more lessons is what you need. i ve been in tough situations but with a bit of determination and skill i was able to get out of the stikiest of situations. good luck with finding the kite, never give up

ye i might buy a switchblade as my next kite probably alot easier seeing as h a/r kites are like impossible to relaunch and especially at my skill level.

o ye and im a little confused at what your getting at threadjack and to u kitecrazzy urs isnt to good because it took me a couple of times to read what u wrote to understand what ur going on about.

and i sugeest justin and dustin get more lessons aswell coz ur were both out with me when it changed offshore and u justin nearly got dragged out to old woman when u decided to keep on kitting

Yes Realplayer, I would love some more lessions, just to get some advice on backroles, and mastering upwind ability. When it was offshore it was a bit of a challange getting back to shore. But luckily I didn't have to ditch the kite.

Switchblade would be an exellent kite for you, easy to learn on, easy to relounch... However they are quite expensive and can be harder to find than other more prominent brands in Australia. With your skill level you'll find it far better than your Nemisis.

Hey realplayer,

Opt for the Swichblade instead of the crossbow. Your comments indicate that your skill level is not ready for a crossbow.

Get more lessons dude!! Over-confidence will get you killed or even worse... get other people killed.

Come and see Kitethrills at Caloundra and we'll tailor a lesson to suit your requirements. Upwind kiting is not something you should be teaching yourself while risking others' safety.

Lessons are cheaper than losing kites and are heaps of fun.We have headzone radio helmets available so you can be under an instructor's guidance even while out of earshot.

Hope you get your kite back.

all you [moderated] who said this kid need lessons should crawl back up into the sand dunes you came fromand keep pulling your wing wangs,

go hard 'realplayer' keep riding when its blowing SW,it makes things more exciting. if you can pull it off it's the best time to kite coz your able to cut back down the line of the glassy 6'' barrel you trying to get covered by.

hope you bought darren some beers for the find.
