Yep...that's my board someone else was trying to sell.

It turns out a fisho found it at sea and was stupid enough to advertise it online straight away....After the proposition was put to him that it wasn't his board a denial was put forward and well wishes were given for finding 'my board'.

His details were obtained from the online sale he was trying to conduct and off to his local police station I went. As I did not have any unique markings or identification on the board it was suggested by the police I may not be able to get it back, however after some persuasive police communication with the dude he buckled and fessed up to finding it, (this was after his wife initially told the police his mum bought it for him!). It was therefore arranged to attend his residence with two police officers present and get my board back.

A BIG thanks must go to kiteboardingschooladelaide.com.au (sorry, dunno how to hyperlink) for their excellent detective skills in locating and securing the boards whereabouts (if you hang up your harness, you'll certainly cut it as a detctive), and to Constable Chris Emmanuel from the Salisbury police station for his persuasive communication skills (soon to be nominated for policeman of the year).

LESSON LEARNT: Have a unique marking on the board then take a photo of it to show as evidence of ownership. If you don't the police cannot legally act upon it until the person selling your property actually owns up to finding it.

It's good to hear that your board was returned safe I have been following this on Facebook and seen plenty of negative comments about it with nothing said about the owner not any threats just think they could of just left your board out there and you still would not have it I think these people have learnt a lesson and everything has been resolved I feel sorry for them a bit as they have been accused of stealing it on Facebook by a page owner but really if it wasn't for them you wouldn't have your limited edition board I was also red on a post that they spent 20 mins looking for a person or a body out there around that area to me says they have a heart in some way everybody makes mistakes in life and learn by them nobody is perfect but good out come you got your board back that's the main thing
