Lost on Wednesday arvo from Pinarro Piont last seen heading north to Ocean Reef could not retreve as it was dark. Brand new kite.
Please call Rhys on 0428 117 382 reward if found...
I watch it looping for ages from the beach at Mullaloo and figured if it was looping there must be someone/something attached to it. So I headed out but couldn't find anyone, I tried to save it for you mate, but it was to dark and to risky. ![]()
It was still heading North, along with two other riderless kites when I last saw it.
I went to the surf club when I got in and they said that you (and the other two guys) had swum ashore. Releasing your kite was the right thing to do, your life is worth more than your kite.
Goodluck with finding it.
P.S. You probably don't want to hear this at the moment, but I have several Bandits for sale including a nearly new 10 DOS. (no it isn't black/blue)
Hey Kent, cheers for that mate i was trying to help the two blokes tangled up and brought one of there boards in and the board must of been pushing on my velcro realease and when i came to shore to drop the board off i went to head out again to help and the release let go..... Cant belive it lost my new kite only second time on it.. thanks for your efforts mate, i was more worried about the other two, so went and got car and headed to mullas and watched my kite head out to sea. hahah im so spewing...
would be interested in your 10 dos,
my number is 0428 117 382.

That sucks mate, especially since you were trying to help others out and this is what you get for it.
I've had similar bad luck going after a runaway kite. I got it back to its owner but put my neck out in the process. 5 weeks and many chiro appointments later Im still payin for someone elses mistake.
When something like this happens it makes you wonder if next time you will be so willing to lend a hand at your own expense. (Good effort Tightlines, having a go but not risking yourself.)
By the way what happened to the 2 blokes that got tangled?
I know genuine accidents can happen (seems like it in your case) but if it was from inexperience and/or stupidity, then thats not on.
Its sh..t like that thats gonna get us banned from Mullaloo for sure.
Imagine if someone from the 'No Fun' brigade got a photo of 3 runaway kites to add to their collection.
But if a genuine unforseen accident then fair enough, it happens, I hope you all get your gear back, but wouldn't hold my breath.
Pharro,
mate i have seen a lot accidents at many beaches and no matter what the cause you will always lend a hand.... let me put this striaght this one was a ACCIDENT and its just one of those things that happen, no stupidity involved and the guys were all doing the right thing. At the end of the day its just a kite and in the big picture its nothing. We have all had accidents and have all been helped by others.
if this gets bad press its B...sh..t cause the guys were all doing the right thing,
Thanks again Mullaloo Surf Club, Ken, and Steve for you help last night greately appriciated from all involved.
And if anyone hears of 3 Kites being found and a Board please call 0428 117 382.
