On Fri 20 Feb 09 I left my pump and thongs in a pandanus tree base at Burgess creek, and did a downwinder. On returning, the thongs were there, but no pump. There's a small chance that it fell into Burgess creek and would have washed up along Castaways-Peregian. However I reckon someone helped themselves. It's a grey North pump with a pressure guage, about 1 year old.
This seems to be a common problem with downwinders.
Maybe we should arrange pump stations with locks along the coast and share the lock combination with kiters?
