Alone in the sand on the path to the beach. Asked the people around but it was nobody's. It had no missed calls on the screen so the owner obviously hadn't noticed his loss at the time I found it.
Did the mistake to turn the phone off to save the battery as I was going on the water, not thinking the sim card might be protected.
But now I can't turn it on any more and the owner can't reach me. Bugger...
Couldn't find a single number saved in the phone's memory.
By the look of things, the only way the guy is ever going to find his phone back is if he's got a mate who checks seabreeze's lost and found section... Very poor odds, but thought I'd at least try...
Email me if you happen to hear of anyone who lost his fone at Brighton this arvo...
And do so as well if you can think of a better way to try to find the phone's owner...

Hi Em,
Think you might have found my phone. Silver Nokia? I was with Tom talking to you about the Cult 13.5 you were flying. Noticed it was missing only when I left the beach. Getting old and senile I guess!
No worries thou, I had actually just changed phones and that was the last day I was using it. Sim is now blocked. I was going to recycle it, so if you have a want maybe you could do that for me?
Very much appreciate your honesty. Good to know that most people do the right thing
