Anyone got any tips for good places to kiteboard at Iluka next week? Looks like its going to be Southerlies. I'm thinking just north of the breakwater should have some clean surf and clean wind, but was also wondering about Iluka Bay for flat water but not sure of the boating activity or restrictions in there.

Don't kite in river Iluka side. Asking for trouble. It's one of the biggest volume waterways in Australia. Banks are good in a few places there ATM. Wall could be the go. Serious currents there in big swell, head up the beach. More user friendly at top of tide. Try frazers beach as well. Northern end is my choice, or 4wd up shark bay for more sheltered conditions. There were heaps of crabs, blue swimmers and muddies before last rain. Best prawn season for ages as well. Cafe sumthin tastee in Main Street for a decent cheap feed.

Cheers Pearl. That's the sort of local knowledge I was looking for. And with a name like that I'll definitely be dropping by that caf?.
