I noticed how the safety rope going thru the bar on both my Slingshot and Ozone bars slowly starts to wear and gets the fuzzy edges, from sliding up and down while riding, setting up etc..and eventually needs to be replaced.
It has been suggested that wax might work to stop this.
Has any one used beeswax, candle wax, snow board wax or silicone spray for this?
What seems to work the best?
Whats the best way to apply?
I use a fat candle and do a single wrap around with the centre flying lines to avoid wear after spins . Should work ok with the safety rope

Open up your ozone bag, look inside and you'll see a Velcro tab , pull that and there's a goody bag full of spares including a spare safety, the safety is something that should be replaced each season and cost as much as a block of wax
Get some heat shrink from bunnings or an electrical wholesaler and put it over it and get your hair dryer and problem fixed.
Personally I wouldn't put any wax or lubricant on your lines as it is more likely to have sand stick to it and the wear will be worse than without...
Due to the make up of an elastercised cord it's an open weave so it'll get sand ingress along with external wear, I've rescued a c4 and it's rider when it snapped, not an enjoyable session , me was rooted
I tried melted candle wax on my slingshot depower line a few years ago. Does not help with abrasion easier and neater to buy new parts.
dkeating,
How long is eventually?
My 2011 fone bandit lines are still going strong, but did have to replace bar due to corrosion.
Is your bar badly worn or sharp edges or scratches on inside line feed.
I have noticed certain brands wear quicker as well, ie my 2013 north trim line is crap already.
My tip: don't wax, but dunk your bar in the water before you get on the board to flush out any sand. I tried wax, but it's a bit of a bugger because the sand sticks to the wax and then it eats the hole in the bar. I've been doing the dunking trick for years, lines and bars last much longer.

Cauncy for the offer that shows what helpful people we have in the kiting community I'll message you with what's worn and see what you've got.
Have noticed now some manufactures use 2 plastic sleeves thru the bar and others eg wainman 1 sleeve containing 2 lines 1 for chicken loop with a slot for the other for the safety flag.
Much better idea while others have the flagging line above the bar but maybe this interferes with the leash.
Thanks for the ideas
cheers
