It's known as the "gayley".
But seriously asking the name for a hooked in raley is like asking the name for a hooked in unhooked raley... it's an oxymoron.

ah so it is called a hooked in raily, its just the image that isnt cool to be associated with. like riding a twin tip in the waves, or riding upwind on a wave, or doing a pull up mobe,
so next time anyone does a hooked in raily, its not cool, and you cant progress from hooked in to unhooked, just go straight for the unhooked tricks if you want cred... or just enjoy kiting.

Is it possible to do a railey hooked in?

Just the dynamics of full body extension with a powered kite would make it impossible while hooked in.

Never actually seen one. photos?

don't bust a valve there hydra. its just not possible to get laid out into a raley if you are hooked in, its can't be done unless your whole body is extended

thats fair enough i guess. a blokes gotta start somewhere though. a hooked in raily still resembles a raily without the full extension., and probably why people use the terminology.
if you have the kite low, over powered and plenty of reach on your bar, i guess full extension is possible while hooked in. ?
