I was out today and my kites strut blew out through the material, not the seam.
The kite is only 12 months old and a reputable brand.
Will they just repair it or replace the kite under warranty???

Red thumbs all over a serious question.

Must suck when u spend all your time trolling and being abrasive, and then when u have a serious question people just discount your post altogether.

Shame.

I was unhooked and went for a floater but was pulled of the back of the wave. Kite crashed leading edge down and tumbled by waves. Was only 4 foot but man, give me a break...

Well given all your posts in the WS forum I thought WE were the only ones with bladder problems.
Seems you have your own now. Try cranberry juice.

Ooh, I crashed my car into a tree, do you reckon Ford will repair it under warranty?

But seriously, a 4 foot wave is more than a tonne per square metre, you can hope your kite will survive it, but not expect it.

Thats call wear and TEAR bro. You could do that to a brand new kite. No warrantee.

Thats the dice you roll playing in the waves.

No way. Has to be a manufacturing defect.
The material has gone soft and lost its crispness.
All after only 1 year...
WTF???

Your joking right?
Loosing crspness is wear. getting smashed on the waves is tear.

Another thing I have found.
I think my surfboard that I kite on may have a defective fin plug. It pulled out from beneath the board today and I didn't even hit the sand???
I reckon it could be a poor glass/fin install job.
Should I ring the shaper on monday???

Mate, I hope you are trolling and looking for a giggle but....

12 months old and rolled by a wave and that's warranty? Give me a break. If it was a manufacturer's defect it would have gone well before now. Who is to say that while self launching you caught a shell or rock, caught the zip in the kite bag while packing up, slammed it hard into the water or beach, clipped a tree, rolled it up over some sharp crap while packing or whatever and a slight tear or nick occurs, you dump a tonne of water on it and after 12 of months of bliss it finally gives way and after it's now the manufacturer's fault? Damn , I'm happy if I get 12 months out of a kite.

I wish I wouldn't post when I drink a few but fair dinkum I hear this story all the time, doesn't anyone take responsibility for their own actions anymore, always someone else's fault.

Flame on........
