Hi,
I'm moving across OZ east to west in a campervan, I've lived in Australia for the last 5 years so have accumulated quite a bit of crap. I have bought some vacuum bags off ebay for the clothes etc to cram into the campervan. But I wanna know if anyone has actually tried putting their kites in one?
Don't want to arrive with a 3 metre kite ![]()

Actually I have done just that when moving from Melbourne up here.
Yeah, great idea, but you MUST remove the bridles, especially the pullies. They can scratch and damage the canopy. Or alternatively, wrap them in bubble wrap and tape it down. Then vacc seal the bag but make sure nothing is going to puncture the canopy or the bladder. Works a treat!
Yep. Plenty of people use if for reduced luggage on flights. You can use a modified end for a kite pump to vacuum them flat again if you stop half way because the winds too good to miss.

X3 is the way-to-go.They have this nifty little adaptor that lets you suck up your kite (or whatever) using your kite pump. 1 to 4 reduced size (but weight about the same which is more often the problem). No need for environmentally damaging vac. cleaner suction. $39 for adaptor & 3 kite sized vac bags. Assorted size vac bags from IKEA for about $8 ea (so Im told?)
