Hi all, have a mate at work (crazy i know), anyways turns out wind forecast is looking good for the next 5 days (unusual in qld unlike Cauncy's frequent WA updates). So as any kitesurfer would, you have that conversation with the mrs. 'honey im out the next few days, youll be right with the kids eh?' - 'no', 'what!'. Turns out his mrs is planning a shopping expedition with the mother in law, and on saturday. Its 2017 - for any of the Mrs's that check up on their hubby's forum posting or frequent the forums, that means no one shops anymore, seriously havent you heard of online shopping? He didnt say 'honey my kite has a tear can you take it to the nearest repairer asap'. Anyway being the real gentleman my mate is he replies - 'honey you can shop all you want saturday, from as early as you want untill 10am (first green arrow i think)'

What is with the unreasonable expectations? he even showed her the wind forecast. So question after my little rant is how do you approach this, i thought it would be black and white, turns out there is a little sensitivity around these sort of topics?

Mate I would say he should just tell her "I earn the money and your job is looking after the kids" and it's worked for me so far. This is a one shot bullet that solves all problems in marriage and I reccomend it to everyone. I'm sure all the married men out there will agree that this method is not met with utter disgust and unreasonable backlash.

Don't listen to Kernal he's in the wrong forum again.

I'm coming up to my 10 year anniversary, to mark the occasion i'm looking forward to renewing my vows - with the amendment D.O.W stamped as the watermark.

... yep, D.O.W is indeed a necessity in life and is all encompassing in a kiters life so should be seen as reasonable vow/watermark!

Robbie

ps good luck with that billob

Depends on wind- kite season
depends on waves-surf season
After 9 years with the wife she has finally grasped this concept and asks me every time before planning things, what the wind or waves are doing

Yeah mine too. **** it took a loooooong time to sink in.

Another idea is to book the time in, in advance. Don't book it in every time. Book it for life.

"every saturday and or sunday from 2 till 5 i want to go kiting until i die"

That means you have to withstand one hard negotiation, then its done. Forever! You can then be a good buggar on **** wind days and say "you know what why don't you go shopping this afternoon? treat yourself! you deserve it!"

ps are Ken9 and Ken10 the same person? where is Ken 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8?

Ken10 and Ken9 are different people. Firstly the 2nd has a 9 in it.

I sometimes wish there was a bjw2 to support my crappy comments.

You could create bjw2 then support your own crappy comments. Plus if you didn't agree with yourself you can argue with yourself for sh its and giggles..
