looking to but a new twin tip for riding in the waves not flat water..
what to you guys suggest i demo?
gonna give the hammer a test for sure
Hey Sandman,
There will be Hammers available for this season. The Aussie importer bought up all remaining stock of the Hammers from last year so they are available for the last time this season. Australia is the only place in the world the Hammers will be available.
Good stuff! Very popular board for waves.
I hear the boards have been delayed a bit so we await their arrival into Oz.
Cheers,
KH
give alex gillian a call at STONKER (03) 52616077, he has unreal boards. I use a 135cm angry bear design. I set it up with 75mm rear tail fins and 50cm on front. This board is fantastic on the flat and incredible in the waves. I mainly ride waves but it gives you the advantage of control and the ability to boost or whatever you want to do. I weigh 76 kilos and generally fly my 11m in surf between 15 and 28 knots, and in 1 to 6 foot of swell. The board goes really well in all conditions.
good luck
Never ridden a hammer (would love to) but I would add Jimmy Lewis Model3 into the mix - similar outline to the hammar, think a bit more rocker (3-stage) but no flip tips. Huge single concave, "Dominatrix" hull shape.
^^^^ yep me too...![]()
wot the hell were airush thinking stopping production of these???![]()
might be an opportunity for a smaller "dynamic" board company there???
Whats the price tag on a new hammer???Does anyone have a second hand one their selling???
Keen to give one a go.
I ride a jimmy lewis rad f in the waves, it's not bad but also not ideal. I think it has a similar design to the hammer (feel free to argue the point, going on alcohol affected memory) and it has a a fantastic ability to ride up over white water. Downside is that it tends to dig the nose and it doesn't have much buoyancy, so you need a reasonable wave to get a decent ride.
My mate has an old toxic wave which isn't too bad either, carves well, has more buoyancy, but it's heavy as hell!
there is nothing worse than seeing someone riding waves on a twin tip.
surfboard or flatwater for mine.![]()
I’m in the process of updating my kites and boards and the only item not going is the 08 138 Hammer. Have recently acquired an 08 Spleene Zone and 09 Jaime Pro. Now I’m a very happy kiter in the board department.
I kite generally between Leighton and Scarbs and all are available if you want to try one.
The black plastic thing is a board bag that comes with the board. The other strap is covered by the bag. The fins can be set up 2 front/ 2 rear or 1 front/ 3 rear and tha footstraps moved from standard twin tip to mutant style as in:
