funny how many lawn comments go down on SB
Cause we are all old men!!...
Yeah mate its lush. I'm allways disappointed with lawns in Aus. They allways seem to be burnt and baron.
Any way back the test.
Eppo. I noticed surfboards have some cant on the outer fins so I gave it a lash.
can I notice a difference. Perhaps a little bit better carving on the wave face.
Yeh my initial thought was you could probably 'break' the fins earlier and get a tighter turn like on a SB...
didn't want to say anything as I actually know f'all compared to you and boards.
that's a sweet patch of lawn you have there
We wine and dine our women, kiwis grow a patch of lawn for their partners, baaaaaah, baaaaaah![]()
nah mate. my missis want the scorched earth policy in our yard. She's always saying "cant you cut it shorter?"
I'm like "nope! I like it lush!, Now seeya i'm off kiting"
mmmm... with surfboards the higher the speed the less cant u want
but with a sharp mutant rail it would be interesting to know the difference

Interested.
That is probably my impression of what happened yesterday. On the nice slow shoulder head high stuff it felt better at carving on the wave face.
on the faster double head monsters I rode it possibly felt the same or slightly worse?
It truth i'm looking for ways to slow the board down in bigger surf.

Smaller board?

I wish I could say that and get away with it.
On topic - I would remove all the outer fins and leave only two middle fins in place and see how that goes for you, and oh make the middle fins longer (short board style fins in thrusters I am talking here). I am doing something similar with mine but turning my board into like a mini-surfboard with one single motha of a fin and see how that goes. I bet it will carve like an old mal!
mmm Don't know if you will have the concave to counter the lack of finnage but report back. Reckon the back end will skittle out on you...
My other unmentioned test is no fins on my coffin lid board. That's some fruitiness. slidy slidy. but it teaches you a good edge an correct weighting.
Test 2.
Felt fun in the head high max waves. held really well until I lent it over until the center fin came out then if was slidy, slidy.
Not a set up i'd use for massive waves but pretty good fun playing around in the smaller stuff. It made doing floaters on really easy. just pop the fin out and slide.
Transitions also very cool. pop the fin out and roll into a really smooth slidy transition.
I'm thinking of drilling a quad set up now. seeing how that goes.
