Any tech heads out there able to solve this issue I am having
Every time my Galaxy phone connects to the car radio via blue tooth it plays a stupid inbuilt tune......like a nokia ring tone.
It goes on and on for ages. I have listened to it for over five minutes thinking it was a one off thing but it keeps doing it.
Cheers for any useful advice.
Billy
sorry wrong section.........but you can still answer if you know....
Hey Billy,
Strange place to ask this question indeed :)
These are known issues with Android phones full of default Samsung's bloatware. I'm guessing your phone isn't rooted which would make the solution to your problem a little more difficult. Basically, you're gonna need to install a third-party app to be able to select which player is used and what other actions your phone will take when connected to Bluetooth, such as Bluetooth connect & Play, but there are many other apps that can do the same job.

Mine does this if I'm using spotify, for example, to download and bluetooth music to the sony stereo. If I get out then I when I get in the car next and hit play on the sony head unit, if spotify isn't running on the phone then it doesn't know what to do and plays some samsung welcome tone thing. I'd rather it played nothing.
Options:
a/ rename the file in question. see if stops playing anything or picks another random file.
b/ rename your favourite song to be the same file name
c/ as cbulota said, root your phone then do whatever it takes
You can use a file explorer app to copy/del/rename etc.
Thanks Christian and Dave . I will try and see what happens
Kooka.......not quite sure if you tried to answer question or you got a bit lost in it all.......thanks anyway
This is one of the most frustrating things, it's just as much the car's fault as the phone's. At least with android you can download an app to stop it from automatically playing, there's nothing like it for iOS. Every time I get in my car it just starts blasting whatever was last played on my iPhone, whether it was music or an audiobook. Or it just picks a song at random. No options to turn it off anywhere, nothing you can do about it. I'd like to strangle whoever thought that was a good idea.
If you do root it then you can install Adaway and not see any ads any more and that's a glorious thing.
Dave what do you mean by. ( root them ) .......all this tech talk is going over my head.
Root = administrator privileges over the phone, so you can install whatever you want rather than being restricted by the phone manufacturer. Based on the phone it is either super easy to do (google's nexus phones) or difficult with a chance of bricking the phone (samsung phones in the past, for example)
Forget rooting its full on
Just rename file or surely theres a place in bluetooth settings to turn it off? .to make one of those without that, option would be a bit like being a kiter fron nsw and wearing lifejacket when visiting ayers rock...sthing like that anyway
