after a good day yesty in the waves on 7m, i launched my 11m today using the same bar, and one of the centre lines had stretched like 6 inches. was it because i was looping it like crazy.

anyway i just tied a granny knot in it. do i need new lines. ugh.

So only one of the front lines stretched?

Front lines always stretch apparently. When it happoened to mine, I just swapped the front with the back lines, and they have pretty much evened out.

If only one line stretched from looping, loop like crazy the other way :)

Do they ever stretch !!!
What is it do you think it that helps to 'pop' you off the water ???
I pinched out my lines the other day and found that when all the built up twists had been removed, one of my steering lines was 6" longer than the other, requiring and emergency pigtail insert to make the things even again and stop the bar from being over at some stupid angle when the kite was overhead.
Now in theory all the lines will stretch back to their original cut length once they have been under tension again, but if you take account there is some degree of manufacturing tolerance when these things are pre-stretched at the factory, and the chance of a 'Friday afternoon special' now and then, this means that there is plenty of scope for you 24m lines (or whatever nominal length they are on your kite) to be anything but that !!! (This is according to one of the top men at the IKO)...
This is not the first time I have seen or heard of it...
