i wanna have a crack at riding a directional rather then my TT.
Trying to save a few bucks, as I'm not sure it's for me, and not wanting to invest much $$$ !!I have got a couple of old cheap and nasty surfboards in my backyard. Sadly, I'm pathetic and need the aid of the straps. bring on your red thumbs, you red thumbing B**tards. ![]()

Just wondering if there are any stick on straps ??
Are there any board grips with straps ??
Dont really need a strap for my back foot as a simple gorilla grip will work, just something for the front foot. Anybody got any ideas how I can set up a strap on a board without any inserts?
Surely there are stick on straps of some sort on the market.
had good search online, but can't find a thing.Ideas ??![]()

I'm sure I saw stick on straps at KP, but I can't find them online.
Otherwise there's insert blocks and straps but you will need to take it to a surfboard maker/repairer to get them to install it. Cost me 100 bucks.
I was looking for a stick on strap for the front also when I went directional, I soon found they're like $80-$100. I just stuck with one of my old surfboards and just put $5 wax on the front and was fine after a few sessions. I guess if you're board is really old you could always just screw it in to save some dosh.
Screwing foot straps straight into a surf board wont last any time at all - not a great plan. Foot strap plugs (5 hole ones give you the chance to move straps and adjust foot width size) are cheap and if you have some fibre glassing skills are easy to install - DONT USE POLYESTER RESIN OR YOU WILL MELT THE FOAM CORE IN YOUR BOARD - not a nice thing to watch!! Stick on pads - have heard of them but never seen one so cant comment sorry
If you are half into the idea of riding a SB - you will be hooked and unlikely you will ever turn back LOL

so they do exist ??can't imagine there is a huge market for them. i thought a lot of the BIG WAVE surfing guys used straps, especially for getting towed in…. but what do i know?
buy some cheap straps on ebay dril out 20mm diameter hole for fixing and make a mix of Q cell and resin insert the plastic spiral gyprock wall anchors and then you can fix straps in with stainless steel pan head screws, probably cost about 10 bucks plus cost of straps.you can use polyester resin on normal surfboard foam but not on epoxy boards.have a go and save some coin

I found a Surfboard on the side of the road 5 year ago, and i only planned on using it until I got the basics, but yeah that's why I didn't do it in the end and there was no need to.
