hi all
Slammed my 15m LF envy today and nearly tore it in half, half way between the struts from leading edge right through trailing edge.yeah not happy ..What i want to know is it reparable [fairly straight rip] and if so anyone know of any good quick repairmen .Darwin would be easiest for me but Cairns or Townsvill would be ok as im in Gove so has to be posted anyway...
thanks in avance

Had 2 repairs from Moti Levy Kite Repairs.

He does quick turn around.

3 year warranty on repairs
And
Has a free courier to get your kite back to you.

Basicly, fill in the repair form, send it off, wait a few days and it's back.
Based in NSW, but bestin the business in my opinion.

I do not work for Moti Levy either.

Not so convinced about Moti. His outfit damaged a valve on a kite I sent to him to repair and then said it was impossible that he broke it and that it must have been me that did it. He did however offer to fix it for another $100 if I sent it back to him... If he was nearby I would have gone and seen him face to face, but pointless arguing over the phone.

I got my kite repaired in Darwin by the sail repair guys out near Dina beach road. LE split on a rebel, very good job and we'll priced. Robbie would be able to tell you the name of the place.

Sail repairer at Nautical supplies in Darwin. Did my 15m envy when it exploded sitting on the beach..

Just to add balance to the thread for future reference I had a similar experience with Moti.
Mine wasn't a valve, he simply fixed a L.E tear but left the smaller tear next to it. Claimed it was a nick which turned into a tear when I pumped it up (Can happen) except I didn't pump it up because the tear was so obvious when I got it back.
His website says he tests all kites and keeps a picture before sending back but when i asked for the picture he said his phone had died and it was unavailable.

Long story short he wouldn't fix it without getting paid for another repair and it was a solid month before I was using that kite again..
No hate or malice just balancing a thread which will get googled by the next guy who tears his kite.

cheers marvin but have sent it to darwin as above..By the way the vanhunks bucca is working a treat for the winds up here just starting to boost and am addicted, the only thing is trying to get it right over when the wind is up around 20 knots and using my 15m i seem to catch my calf on the water a bit but thats probably just me, or maybe i might be a bit overpowered with a big board..other than that all good

Disclaimer - don't know Moti from a bar of soap.

The thing about "balance" on an internet forum is similar to elsewhere in our society. Those that had bad experience are the ones who always shout first and shout the loudest. I wonder how many good experiences people have had with Moti that are not commenting on here to give true indication of his customer satisfaction?? So those with bad experiences (and all businesses have that) think a balance is to have a one-to-one ratio reflected.

It would be interesting to hear his (or hers) side of the story, but I'm sure he's too busy servicing his 99% of happy customers.

There's another guy in tweed heads that does kite repairs. Search for Deano's Kite Repair in google.

I've had a few repairs done with him recently and he does a good job and is a bit cheaper than the other guys in the area.

Taking another kite up to him today.
