What's the matter gentlemen?
For once, someone accepts doing something "out of regular", getting hurt and admiting wrong doing, and we are now belting him for it?
I think the guy needs to be commended for this.
We better learn from his negative experience, or we are afraid we will scare the noobies.
We better scare them

i think it's good that he has posted the pic and story, because i dont think some ppl understand how dangerous kiting can become. Ive seen countless learner wipe themselves out and take people with them, maybe he will make people have more respect for kites. PLus the pic isnt that bad anyway

I reckon it's a great story - pretty brave of him to post it for all to see! Can't see it getting deleted.

Learning from misadventures is important i think. I'm an anaeshetist , we have an incident reporting system Australia wide, which is collated by a group of experienced anesthetists. It is published and is read by many anaesthetists. The rational being to learn lessons from "incidents" to improve future safety. Perhaps we should have an "incident section". The general forum already functions doing this to some extent .
For instance if a new drug or equipment causes a side effect by incident reporting others may become alert to the possibility. Likewise with kiting gear...gear failure or problems are analgous.
