Cocos is great if you want to kite and not much else except for cheap alcohol. I went with Zephur Kite Tours this year and had a great time.

or keep an eye out in hookups of people organising themselves into kiting groups to fiji .have a look at the threads in the hookup $1k for 10 days for pretty much everything (inc airfares)and a good time and some pretty special riding (downwinders =yum ,low tide exposed reef = sigatoka rivermouth yum yum ,wind is not as reliable as cocos but if you want some terrain and waves ....well ,I think most were pretty happy.Hoping to kite cloudbreak next winter too .ol mate in my avatar is one of the friendly locals .Beware of Blicks the pool comp shark .no one else ever wins

cool .looks like first cab off the rank is Aug .Col (Cols point named aftre him let it slip he wanted to go in Aug so Already a szieable crew for that one (even tho i haven't even looked at the tides or suggested a date ) I saw Ric has plans for a sept trip so lets say that one already has a sizeable crew too .Not sure about July tried to book the fam but airfares and ff points usage too tricky so it looks like a 2 week NZ chillout ski pass doin the club fields is on the cards ) Prolly a June kickoff for those of us who are toatally over the doldrums since april on the east cost NSW and are just hangin to get there and I'd say Oct trip for sure .
