Not kited but surfed it a bunch... Good area to the left to rig but DOW the set down could be a bit iffy cos its nudding but rocks and rocky beach to the right.. It has potential but be on your game... You'd have to kite back up the point to the beach to come in from memory...
It would be a really good kiting wave if you got the wind right, it can get fat on the wrong tide so the bit of extra power from the wind bag would be nice...loooooonggggg left and there's nudding else to do here once the surf goes **** which it usually does in the arvo cos of the wind(kiting time!!) check when Ramadan is cos the locals are all Muslim and there not allowed to surf, you are of course so Ramadan is a good time to go....let us all know how ya go...
Quite a lot cross onshore, hazards also an issue.
Bali Ann is easier and far more hospitable.. IMO
From my experience wind pretty much stop after Balian!
I have been few times to Medewi and never got any wind, went back to Balian and kited.
BUT I heard reports of wind there from some old windsurfer friends!!!

Hey Monkers , hope you have a great time and let us know what you find there from a kiting viewpoint.
I don't think Medewi would be much good for kiting, I have surfed it when there has been some wind and you can feel the wind shadow on the inside.
At the right time you may be ok as long as you kept out the back but I just don't think it is worth the effort.Select to expand quoteMonkers said..

I would just enjoy the surf, I wouldn't worry about taking kite gear at this time of the year.
IMO you would be very unlikely to get any decent wind, it's sketchy even at the best of times.
Nowhere to hire gear up there as far as I know and its a few hours to get back to anywhere that you can.
Zero wind at the moment and NO rental up there...
Up to know still only place where is possible to rent is Sanur area!
