Howdy all,
Will be in mackay next week and will probably be able to spare an hour or two in the arvo's for a kite, work and conditions permitting.
Which beaches are the best at this time of year?
Which would be the best place to stay in regards to kiting? I have stayed at dolphin heads before but a bit of a drive to town. was thinking of just staying at the mecure in the city and driving to whatever beach for a kite but if there's any prime beachfront places can you let me know?
Green arrows from Saturday from the S.E. wooohooooooooo
East Point or Town Beach depending on the tide.
Incoming tide....... do the walk and ride it in @ Town.
Outgoing........... Smash it up in the river 2 East Point.
Stay in town ..........Closer to both spots.
Plenty of crew to kite with on the weekends but not many during the week though.
If I'm not working I'll be out there...
Cheers

thanks sailguy! commodore ok for the drive to east point?
found a b+b at lamberts beach (slade point) looks alright. Does the wind hit there or is it deep water/choppy? Had visions of me kicking back in beachfront accomodation and walking to the water with my kite. Guess wouldn't be at the better spots though? The river mouth looks great!
Lamberts isnt really the best place, but as snow said the 2 spots are town beach and eastpoint. Should be some kick ars wind comming, so youl have a blast.
Contact me at the shop (07) 49533103 when you get in and Id be happy to show you the good spots.
Snow is our resident kiter, basically kites for a living
so take his advise.
The commodore is prolly the best car to take down Eastpoint road, youll blend in with the locals anyhow[}:)]
Just need to take it easy and stick to the hard track. Can get a little rough at times.
Joe.... I think you are mistaken that's the easy track to east point or is that the track to spot X
hahahahaha
thanks guys. as usual mackay accommodation is booked out and the most expensive in oz for what you get! hopefully I'll get some sessions in.
