heading over to Patong beach in Phuket in August and wondering if its any good for kiting? has wind this time of year ? and any hire places/shops etc,

I was there last year in April, good winds, really nice water, would have needed an 11m and an 8m, but no kites there at all as of last year. No kite shops, no hire, no kiters!

Patong is great, but not for kiting unless you like competing with 3 paragliding boats doing 10min laps. I was there last week and didn't see any conditions better than phuket and anthem wake park 
Anthem wake park has a little bit of kiting info on their website, and the kba places are fairly basic contrary to their website
