Yeah I kited there a few years ago. Great kiting in the lagoon when the wind comes from the right direction, cross shore. Really beutifull place to get out on the water and the wind can crank when it wants. It all seemed safe enough and I avoided the big surf on the outside of the lagoon (i was on my own the whole time)
When the wind blows the other way, I can't remember the actual direction, there is a beach that looks possible across the Island from the lagoon. Not far away but it looks pretty commiting to get in the water. I never chanced it there myself.
Certainly take your gear though. Hope that helps?
