hay guys goin to phuket in a few months just pondering a few things has any one been there and got any ideas on where to kite and secondly does any one know the weight of a ss td 12 m roughly iam trying to find out if its worth takeing mine or hireing over there cheers 
I went to Phuket mid year in 2004 and stayed in Patong Beach. Didn't take surf or kite gear thinking I could hire over there. I had no problems hiring a surfboard but they hardly knew what kitesurfing was, let alone hiring the gear out.
Things may have changed by now. I was suprised the waves were ok when the tide fills in though. Nothing huge but fun.

Going to phuket in 3 weeks, so will give u an update of what it is like over there. Was going to bring the gear over but looked on the tourism site and they indicated that could hire gear over there. Will keep posted when back from the adventures.
was there two weeks over new years... very strange weather patterns, we had more or less a nw monsoon style thing going for a few days... windiest ive ever seen it at that time of year but id still want a 16 :(
