Davey
Sell it for scrap and get something decent!
You must be having lessons so ask your instructor about what kite is best.
Hi Davey,
Just because you're a beginner doesn't mean people have a right to be rude. My apologies for other's comments, many of us are helpful kiters who are happy to give encouragement and advice. When the hydro first came out, it was considered a good beginner kite. But as safety has developed there are much better options. If having lessons you are probably learning on a stable SLR/Bow/Hybrid 4 line kite, not a C kite like the Wipika. Most beginners would do well to pick up a used kite such as a Cabrinha Crossbow or a Slingshot T3. Most brands do a stable all-round kite, just make sure you have a look around and don't pay over the odds. There are plenty of kites for sale on this site also. If not having lessons, try and talk to kiters in your area and see what other new kiters are flying. If possible, it would be worthwhile getting rid of the Wipika as you will advance quicker on a newer kite. Kiting is fantastic, and if you stick at it, you will love it and be hooked. It does have a high drop out rate, so persevere. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.

thanks for the kinder reply Steve, I appreciate the advice as i am new to the kiting scene, i had a couple of lessons late last year on a 10m slingshot kite not sure wot style it was but really enjoyed it so am looking forward to making it a regular experience. I will look at picking up a newer kite to start with and see if i can get rid of the wipika.

To sell an outdated kite with no proper safety release to a beginner is just plain wrong.
Karma will catch up to anyone trying to make a profit out of their derelict gear.![]()
