Crashed my kite in a tree the other day. Had to dismantle the whole bar to get the kite down. after repairing the kite, I now only have the problem of putting it all back together.
I have a naish torch 2007, but suspect the lines might be a bit older.
found these manuals, that helped me a bitwww.ksmaui.com/kiteboarding_az/product_manualswww.naishkites.com/2007/downl...eGuide_Eng.pdf http://www.naishkites.com/2007/downl...bleDepower.pdf
but Im still left with quite a few unknowns.
[pic1 is an overview]
pic2
1. how do you use the red ball (see pic3 for closeup). is the line (point 4) supposed to be used with it?
2. is a line supposed to go through the pipe, no one seems to even remotely fit?
3. where do I attach the yellow line? In the manuals, there are ony 4 lines comming down..
4. where is this line supposed to go?
5. [already figured out how to hook the saftey leech]
pic3
how is the red ball used?
Sorry that I have to ask this way. bought the kite in Perth, but just got back to Sweden. Managed to hit the first storm here, and unfortunately the wind forecasts arent as good here I guess, and the same probably goes for my judgement :P.
really appriciate the help, and remember;
for every question you answer, a new breeze is born in a cloud near you.
Is a Torch 06 bar, ill try and help
Line 5 is the bungie line, that goes from your chicken loop (theres a little metal loop on the chicken loop pipe were the stopper ball rests) to about 1/3 of the way up the lines. Then you attach your 5th line (line 3) to that. I think.
Line number 4 look familiar, I can't remember off the top of my head... I have school now, I'll unravel my lines this afternoon and have a look for you
Don't want to be unkind, but do you have ANY idea what you are doing ?
You don't seem to know much about your gear.
Kite in tree ???? Don't know how your bar works????
Have you had lesson(s) ???
If the colours are the same as my 08 bar....the yellow(3) is the 5th line and should be connected to the top of the pink line (5) which then runs down through the bar as you have it. I can't help you with 2 and 4, don't have them on my bar.
Hope it helps
Robert
I would think it's pretty damn easy to dismantle all your lines from the bar and find it very hard to link them all back together.
It took me about a year to work out exactly how everything worked. That didn't mean I couldn't ride, or was unsafe or stupid, it just meant I was on the water instead of examining the engineering of my bar and lines.
Hope you get it sussed and back together VOCC, you'll know it inside out after this.
Thanks everyone for adding cents.
to user: I don't know that much about my gear, but I'm trying to learn as I go along. And I wouldn't say it affects the safety aspect, as long as I know what the lines are for. And if I get this together, I probably know alot more than before.
It was pretty dumb putting the kite up in a tree, and it was a hard lesson to learn. The winds aren't as constant here in Sweden as they were in Perth, and the wind forecast was pretty off target aswell. Since I havn't been riding for long, I don't trust myself as much as I trust external sources. From now on, i'll only be riding in proven conditions, where other riders are at.
I actually found a pic on my computer, downloaded from ebay when I bought the kite.
So now I finally got it all together again! I'll try put the kite up tomorrow, to see if it acts like it should, but now it all looks like I remember it!!
it ends up being 4 goes through the smallest holes in 2 and then through 1 before being hooked up to 3. the pic is from before i bought the kite.
thanks everyone anyways, and be safe out there :P
Learn from the learner and take a few photos of your gear, especially if you are a bit new to this!
Hey Vocc. Good to see you got it figured out !
Your mention of E Bay will send shivers down many spines !
Just make DOUBLE sure that you understand the safety releases and that they work.
Got to admit,I had a terrible tangle once, and figured it was quicker to undo the lines from the bar. Then scratching my head about how to put the thing back together,I realised I had another identical kite,so just copied the other bar.
Just one thing. DONT trust forecasts !!!
You need to understand the weather and be observant of changes.
