Hello,
its my first time in your forum. Usually i use www.oase.com since the year 2000.
So first of all: HELLO :-)
now my qestions :
i want to visit australia next year with my family. we will stay for about 2 month.
as we have a friend near melbourne the plan is to start in sydney. we want to rent a campervan for travelling.
my son is 5 year old and my woman is not interested in kitesurfing. so i have to find places for kiteing with a campground close to the beach because we have only one car.
ione idea is to stay in east australia sydney -melbourn- adelaide for a month and then travel to perth and up to the nort..
and flying back from perth.
or to stay at the east coast and travel there around..
i am a experienced kiter but i have no experience in BIG wave riding. in maui i was just out at kitebeach and here in europe i ave 1-2 Meter waves..
i would be happy to get some adresses locations of campingrounds and places to go.
greetings from snowy bavaria
ROB
Just about every coastal town you go to will have a camping ground right on the beach.. the swell rarely gets above 2 mtrs.. Melbourne is a dump
don't bother going there unless you want to go shopping and drink frappachinos [}:)]
Just go to WA-the wind is better and they are far more hospitable to travelling European kitesurfers than in other parts of Australia.
What time of the year are you planing on coming across. The best kiting conditions for the areas you are heading would be between October to March.
Once you have been to Adelaide and are heading to WA call past Whyalla (SA)we have a strong kiteing comunity and have some great flat water conditions that are fairly shallow most of the time. The local caravan park is right on the beach. We have been getting a lot of traveling kiters heading over to WA this year stop for a few days conditions are regualy 15-30kts 4+ days of the week between october to march With some seabreezes coming in even stronger.
PM me if you need any other info.
