A cardboard 133 x 40 would be perfect.

Try a 134- 137cm Liquid Force Recoil Comp. If your at sandgate, Brisbane, ill happily lend you my 134cm, otherwise try Padi at surfconnect.com (sandgate) for different sizes/ boards.. He usually has demo stuff for cheap..
Ill be at sandgate beach today, prob bout lunch time.. riding a 12m LF hifi comp . blue/ black / white.

Welcome aboard! I would back up the lessons first suggestion! Look for someone who has helmet radio or a big megaphone or it'll take a lot longer to improve. A lot of the instructors' setups also allow you to demo boards and can advise further.

Bring your kite along and they'll help you setup, I'm sure, and advise if it'll be safe.

Advise joining www.aksa.com.au or your local chapter. Where are you based?
