Whilst I am sympathetic about the injury part and stuff it does get a bit tireing listening to his safety and maintanece rants when he does not practice what he preaches.
Being so obsessed with being safe yet not able to even safely connect kite lines properly. Going kilometers out to sea alone and having his gear failing and having to be rescued.
I was a bit harsh on Silviu but theres no excuses for not attaching your lines correctly and going out on a 16m in that sort of wind. Kiteboarding is pretty safe almost all dangers are user created so instead of lecturing on the forum about safety he should practice up on the water and have fun.
Play it safe and don't kook it out. No point worrying about freak weather and stuff when your far more likely to have an accident which is just caused by yourself.
harden the *** up pussies and get some boots!!! real wakestyle is called "wake"style because you do "wake"boarding moves and in wakeboarding they use "wake"boots. so harden the *** up and get boots or stop claiming "wake"style.

My friend Chris says that people who use suicide leashes need to harden the f**k up, because you get a nice soft landing and you just pull the thing back to you and keep going. They give suicide a bad name. On a regular leash you plummet into the ocean AND your kite is all f**ked up. That apparently, is hard.
This is Sir Rowdy, he wears bindings because he can't keep the board on his feet with straps. Poor Rowdy, needs booties to protect his feet. How about you get some straps and harden the #&%^ up Sir Rowdy.
*just kidding, I like bindings too*

Hey Greenpat,
Nah mate, Kitewake style is hard core too, but quite different to that performed behind a boat. Some kite stuff is made easier by the loft of the kite and the upward angle of the lines giving softer landings, more airtime to pull tricks. If I see one more kiter throwing and claiming a Raley with the kite at 11 o'clock I'm gonna barf
Other kite stuff is more hard core like L3's etc cause it's pure kite style. ![]()
If you have ever seen a wakeboarder pulling a Crow Mobe off the double up or a Slim Chance from same, thats sick due to the height they need, the speed thay are traveling, the precise timing and the height they drop from with gravity working it's full magic. Tragic for knees.
You don't see too many older (late 20's, early 30's) wakeboarders who haven't had multiple knee and shoulder reco's or who have dropped out of the pro scene all together.
I just prefer to watch behind the boat stuff, it's more fluid and has no dangle. Stylish, smooth, fast and demands respect ![]()
But thats just my opinion for what it's worth, and that aint much ![]()
Good winds,![]()

Good winds,
Its difficult for Pat to relate to wakestyle and boats, I don't think he found a boat big enough to pull him
(sorry, pat, it was too tempting)
I swear I nearly pulled the cable off the pulleys at Base 3 the other day ![]()
There was a boat once that could get me out of the water. Made by Lewis for tournament waterskiing, had a 5.7L chev block V8, some fancy two stage double barrel carbs and could pull me and an 85kg mate out of the water at the same time with us both on single slalom skis. I'll never forget that boat, it was kn HARD!

Bit of topic, but check this yacht out:

A guy we were kiting with in fiji works on it. A couple(2 people) live on it and have 8 staff. ![]()
Hey kitehard
Ever heard of "air" tricks wakeboarding? or cable ski? looks pretty similar to me if you do it right, and the techniques are really similar.
p.s. who the hell are you trying to fool? you are gonna get way more hurt doing a "wakestyle" kitelow whirly than a "kitestyle" strapped up L3.
kiteboarding could be core.

yeah u do if you think an L3 is gonna hurt ya. chances are if you posted 2587 posts you would think that because youve never actually been outside to find out.
Hey ROWDY,
Of course you're right, L3's wont hurt if you do em on the east coast in 15 knots
, most of our core crew in WA do em in 25 to 30 knots,
and yeah, anything with a kite loop in it at that wind speed will put you in hospital if it goes wrong. ![]()
Most of the east coast crew that came to the Gero nats a couple of years ago had to harden the **** Up after they spent the first 3 days crying that their 5 m kites were too big and too fast. LOL. ![]()
Here's cheers to WA's finest, 25+ everyday and going hard. Respect ![]()
Good winds,![]()
Lets all start claiming who is tuffer. Grow the **** up..... and while your at it, harden the **** up. East coast is gay... west coasters are so tuff and cool. Please!!!!!!!!!
To kitehard.
Who gives a **** about east or west coast. We all kite, we all like kiting and we all want to see progression occur in our sport. I am from teh so called east coast, and yeh we prolly are a bunch of pussies. But who cares, aslong as we are all loving the stuff that we actually do. I am coming over there this year just to kite, and hopefully meet some laid back people who dont wanna break my legs oro something cause im from over here.
