Definitely take booties. Lots of coral, razor sharp and any cuts are immediately infected. The sand is also crushed coral so any wipeout will result in grazes. Take iodine antiseptic and use it ASAP. I saw a guy get a minor graze on his leg and neglect it for 2 days, he ended up with a major infection and couldn't kite for 5 days after.

Great fishing , diving, spear fishing , island hopping, good waves at a few spots, imo the Kiting was good but not epic, if you like flat to small chop then fine personally I missed the waves

Hi Graeme,
Good advice about the antiseptic. Infections in the tropics are very fast to develop if ingnored. A bit harsh about the coral. 90% sandy bottom. The remaining small coral outcrops have been well crushed by years of kiting. Yes it is easy to graze your skin if you land on the coral but ás for "razor sharp and cuts" I think that is a bit over the top. Even so, wear neo boots so there is NO chance of missing a session.

My wind record measured in kt at kite beach August 2012.
2012 was a very good year.
Don't expect 20 -30 kt every day. Just won't happen.
For kites it's all about flat water.
There are some waves to surf, not to kite

Rob would know, he has been there quite a few times and is well traveled. Solid advice!

Guys iodine is not the best for coral and other cuts you get in water. Some water bugs don't mind iodine. Dettol or similar or you can get antiseptic cream with antibiotics on prescription. If you clean it out well can't go wrong.

Also in July wind can be lighter so I'd take a full quiver.

No you have to make your way to Perth and then catch a virgin flight via christmas island and maybe a stop over at Karratha.
