has anyone experienced a broken centreline on cabrinha kites..
I have broken 2 in the last 6 months
1st one on 16m crossbow 2nd on 11m crossbow last weekend both 2010 models.
lucky to make it back to shore as all the load goes on to the plastic tube which houses the centre line and ids line .
of course this powers the kite so much that it backstalls and breaks
the ids line.
if you let the bar go it ends up about 2 metres away because that's how much the plastic tube stretches.
only way ashore is to hold centreline short with one hand and try to fly kite with other hand.
has onyone eperinced the same dramas..

Yep they do wear out. They don't wear quickly, so the fact that both your 2010 kites broke within 6 months is probably more coincidence, unless you reckon you used both about the same amount?
Anyway, they can be replaced, $59.00 from all good Cabrinha dealers. We also have complete new 2010/2011 bars for $350 too

With a 16 and 11m quiver I'm guessing you're a big person. I've got 3 Crossbows with pushing 150 hours each on them. A 7m I got in September 2009 (2010 model). 10m and 13m in December 2010 (2011 models). No sign of lines breaking yet. The only wear I have had is the rubber in the bungies perishes.
