$378 with GST but still a great price, $100 bucks off. Im guessing they are coming in directly from the states at that price.
Kogan have done that before with their Apple products
Had a Black arrive yesterday.
Keeping it in the plastic to see what price I can get as demand and availability before Xmas keeps pushing the price up.
Later this week should have 2 Drift HD Ghost arrive.
My Gopro Black arrived the other day from the states and i have now realized my wifi is not working which sucks, now i have to return it back to the U.S.A at my expence, I did'nt read the warranty details on the main web site, looks like i,ll be paying another $85 for shipping, so much for buying a cheap camera, lesson learned, i,m never buying overseas again instead i,ll fork out the extra money and buy localy. Just letting everyone know to think twice before buying from overseas, sometimes things go wrong and can turn out to be a big pain in the arse in the end.
The software is available friday.
as mentioned, most functions are useless unless you own your own cinema or have movie editing software similar to that of REDBULL MEDIA HOUSE.
For what most people wanna do with it the silver, or any other comparable brand will be fine.
It just shows how a bit of good marketing can make people go mental.
You'll find shipping is more like $25-$30. What sellers don't tell you is what they charge for "handeling" (putting in a package, the packaging and waiting for US postal to pick it up).
Hero3 has limited battery using WiFi (50mins). Disable all advanced features (Protune, WiFi, high fps, HD) and you might get 1.5hrs. It may not be a feature you will use.
It will be interesting to see how many gift wrapped GoPro, waiting under Christmas Trees don't work. The return rate on faulty units is already high.
The updated software (update of the update - GoPro had to do it twice) works well (the second time) using WiFi and a smart phone.
I have not used GoPro CineForm to flip the video but a quick look at CineForm shows what looks like two methods. There is the rotation slide and an additional button to flip vertically or Horizontally.
I have been using Final cut pro to do exactly what you mentioned but have found that it's not a straight forward rotation, while filming the kite doesn't sit in the one place, you tend to move it up and down a bit between 10 and 12, this effects the camera angle. i found that i had to split the video into many different chunks and rotate each piece to try and level up the horizon, easily done with final cut but may be a bit harder with just CineForm.
