They should have called the survey "Calling all pimps" 
Meaningless figures really. We all know Cabs etc are big sellers so they are always going to get more hits than say.. Takoon or JN etc.
A better set of figures would be to only accept the votes from non-affiliated (read: no pimp bias) kiters and get them to rate the kite from 1-10 on several diff aspects such as relaunch, waves, boosts etc etc then average those figures out accross the board.
Then again you could just not be a fickle sheep and go and try the kites for yourself. Me thinks that half the kiters out there buy on brand name and pimping though.
Yeah im of the same opinion - the 'limited to this magazine' most popular kite - doesnt make it the best kite.
And as the FunkyMan says you cant compare a 4WD kite to a speed kite...
I read kiteworld n kiteboarder so already it means bugger all 
though each individual kite does have its 'particular' merits'.
And yeah - the amount of people with good kiteing experience who still dont know how to tune their kites n bars - I guess make up the popular 'Plug n Play' figures too
