I need advice, i have been landing 1 out of 3 attempts. But in my unsuccessful attempts the kite inverts it self. So i must be doing something wrong. I have watched videos on utube but still don't know where I am going wrong.

This is what i do;
- load up board with back foot
- slowly bring kite to 12
- let got of bar with back hand
- pop off water and rotate while hand skimming water
- spot landing and back loop kite.

Any help is much appreciated.

Let go the BACK hand? Are you actually doing a front roll?

As Kami eluded you should be taking off your front hand you need your back hand on the bar to loop the kite.
You also don't need to pop (as such ) the kite passing 12 should be enough to hold up your weight and then the loop is enough to throw you up for the rotation and landing

As harry has mentioned, no need to load up and pop, cos u get enough height just from the pull of the kite.
I generally just lift my legs and board then throw my FRONT hand down to the water and find the height to be perfect.
Also, try and get as inverted as possible,,,,,looks a bit better IMO

Can't work out how ur inverting the kite unless ur not completing the loop and the kite is hitting the water??

Maybe get someone to video u to see where u are going wrong.
Keep practicing dude!

Yea good point, the kite does skim the water so maybe i need to loop faster. Ill give that a go.

Thanks

As others have hinted. Are you sure your looping the kite? If you are doing a low loop you will defiantly know about it.

To me you are describing the classic Non-loop transition mistake, that is forget to fly the kite back in the direction you are travelling for a split second then do your re-direct. If you don't do this the timing is so tight that normally you land whatever your doing but cannot ride away as the kite is already at the edge of the window. Then it just falls out of the sky and inverts. Generally people will kiteloop just before this happens to save the kite from hitting the water.

An easy check, if you back loop handdrag you will not have to untwist your lines. If you front loop doing this you will have a double twist.

What I suspect is you will have one twist, no loop edge of window stall and fall.

if you are looping and swinging under the kite too far causing the invert. I've found the more drag you create the easier it is. Less pop and a deeper hand drag will slow it down some and give better kite feedback.

If all else fails, get out your phone and hand a beer to a mate for the video. I'm pretty sure their comments on the vid will be enlightening;)

I start the roll when the kite is on its way to 12, and by the time it loops I'm finished. Anyone else do this?

Kiteloop Backroll = No twisted Lines

Sounds like ur doing a Downloop with a Backroll??

This would explain ur comment about dropping the back hand and also inverting the kite...

Check the progression videos and watch what the kite is doing.
