Greceful...backloop or backroll?
backroll - I'd say keep your kite half way between zenith and water level. Keep your hands as close to centre of the bar as possible. When u rotate u tend to pull on the hand opposite to direction u r going at the mo (so if u r going on the right tac u pull your left hand) causing the kite to fly towards 12 o'clock.
Trick is to keep your edge until u decide to pop. Going downwind while u popping will only spoil the experience and slack your lines.

U can also go loose your edge going downwind for a second right before you edge hard and initiate the rotation with your head. This way if you add your knees to help out with nice pop u land sweet and high.

Just make sure your hand (either one) don't pull the bar when u rotate and have fun :)

ha gotch ya....folks usually say backloop when they mean backroll

Does your railey look good? If yes then I would say exactly same thing :) Keep your kite at 45 degrees, unhook, loose your edge by tiny downwind bearoff, grab one side of the bar with both hands to initiate the loop (a point a virtually no return heheh) and as the kite starts to travel across the power zone pull a railey. If done properly you will feel a massive sudden pull on your arms (the result of hard edge for railey + kite going through the powerzone). If Not instead of sudden pull you will feel progressed pull (sort of thing).

Your land with no power (from what I can gather) because you let the kite do the job of pulling you off the water while you loosen your edge to take off. Literally kite is pulling you with a loop from a downwind ride and doesn't have enough power (cos it is going with the wind and not against it). Also you land downwind traveling faster than kite which slacks the lines.

Picture worth a thousand words but I am too far :)
