I'm heading up to Exmouth on April 12 for a week with the Family ( chasing those whale sharks )
Got a hire car, so we can move about a bit.
Anybody know that area who can advise if there's a chance of kite-able wind?
( seems whenever I take my gear anywhere it's a whole world of hassle lugging my stuff about and then getting 1 afternoon in 15 knots in chop )
Any advice muchly appreciated
Thanks![]()

Tgcp or turtlhunter, local kiters , whale sharks ? Check the season for them, saying that I've spotted them and swam with them off dirk Hartog island when they arnt mean to be around,
just what you want for the next few days..20+ sw
you forgot to mention thats 20 + Km winds
As for whether to bring your gear, I don't think I have ever kited over easter but if you leave your gear at home I might even get out.
Plenty of whalesharks here too
oh yeah sorry!
i thought there was something wierd about it..cant remember any wind these mnths hardly at all
thanx![]()
^^ what he said ^^ , I dont get it , why would you be unraveling the lines with the kite in the water unless you were doing a boat launch ( even then not like that ) ? , recipe for disaster with all those hard objects on the beach :)
thankfully it wasnt me! just youtubed exmouth kitesurfing and found it!
i am still learning so it is invaluable to see this sort of thing as it shows that complacency is one of the great dangers of the sport
I wouldn't say complacency was the problem here.
i lost count the number of wrong/stupid/weird things this guy does.
Don't worry thats Exmouth in the UK, Weather is better in WA.
I was there a few years back in June (Not April I know), Plenty of Whale sharks, Turtles, Rays and other sharks in and around the reefs but no one kiteboarding at all around the reef areas. The only kiter I saw was me having a lesson out in the gulf area on the East side.
