My wife is sick of getting atomic wedgies from her dakine fusion harness - any recommendations for a (girls) waist harness?

Get a waist harness. I use the Liquid Force Ladies Waist harness, and its been the best move I've ever made (bar the C-kite to bow transition).

If she keeps getting wedgies, then possibly, the kite is too often around '12' and pulling 'up', rather than in the power zone and pulling against you.

Just my opinion. Hope it helps.

My partner traded in her Dakine for the Maui Magic Hana Waist and she raves about how nice it is. You can get them through stores that stock slingshot and Mystic (imported by the same company).

thanks guys.

Yeah, too much kite at 12 - not in the water so much, but on the beach listening to me ranting about each and every minor adjustment she should do to improve her style, upwind, jumping etc...

Hey Lovey,

Don't focus to much on harnesses made for girls, i've personally never felt comfortable in anything with girly design features.
Seriously there is no difference between them, it's a gimmick.

The harness i can recommend is the north styler, heaps of ladies here on the goldie ride with them, and i love it.

I know michelle B, loves her maui magic harness aswell. And congrats to michelle Blinkhorn (byron) on her mambo 1st place, Collett (goldie) 2nd and michelle England (Nsw) 3rd.

Good job girls!

Hope your lovely wife is enjoying her kiting now.

Ange is so right! I had a laaadies Wahine harness - it was crap. Short of surgery, it's the cheapest way to get your boobs up round your face. Forget women's harnesses - they are designed by men in Hawaii for what they think women look like. I blame the porn industry.

I've got a worn-out north styler too..comfiest thing ever. I wear it even when I am not kiting...in the shower, mowing the lawn etc.

Hi There!

I LURVE my new Maui magic waist harness- it is seriously comfy. Easy to put on and no rubbing. Ive been kiting in boardies and a wettie top and the harness sits on my skin and no probs from day one. Get one! I think mine is a small. Its nice and compact and fits in my kite bag easy too.

Ouch....bruised boobs! That definately doesn't need to happen! You need a better fitting harness with maybe a smaller spreader bar so it doesn't pull up.

Angie, I don't know about DaKine or North harnesses, but I have used both the mens and womans Liquid Force harnesses, and there is a HUGE different with padding and how the harness is actually cut and sits around your hips/ waist.

Have a look at male and female seat harnesses; there are a noticeable differences that range from adjustments around the hips, to padding and the height of the back support....
