Anyone kited in Zanzibar?
Planning on going to Paje on the east coast for a week or two in July, anyone know anything about that place?
Cheers

I went to Zanzibar and kited at Paje back in 2010. It was late October so winds weren't great. July should be good, August is the peak.
Awesome place though, stayed at the Bellevue Guesthouse www.bellevuezanzibar.com and hired gear from Dim from Kite Centre Zanzibar.

I went there in October, stayed just north of Paje at Michamvi. It wasn't windy at all, max 10-12 kts one day out of the ten. But that wasn't why I went there, it was for a bit of rancho relaxo after a safari.

But I would love to go back during the windy season, it's paradise!

I went in July 2013. Amazing place.
We stayed in Paje. Plenty of accommodation options. We could walk to the beach/kite spot from our guesthouse.
Like Nuking said, you can contact Dim from Kite Centre Zanzibar if you have any questions.
Wind is not that strong but consistent. Most guys were on 10-12m kites. Some fun little waves at the outer reef (we did 1 downwinder).
The lagoon gets really flat on low tide and choppy in high tide.
