You do your frist weights(pump) class in over a year that morning, and are crawling up staircases, but decide to go for a 2hr kite anyway that arvo. Vomit up the redbull and lunch ~30mins in and muscles are cramping but keep going for another 1.5hrs...

when you're cruising home on the train at about 5:30, going past leighton beach and see people out on big kites that are falling out of the sky, flying backwards, stalling, folding and are generally not doing the things that kites should be doing because there might be a gusty 14 knots if they're lucky and you find yourself thinking "you know what... I reckon there could still be time to go home, get my gear and get back to the beach for a good 15 minutes of not-quite-kitesurfing before it gets dark..."

when your honeymoon destination must be windy, and you spend more time kiting than "consecrating".

and your eyebrows have turned blonde from sun bleaching.

This poses another question for me. How soon is too soon to be addicted?

I only got up on the board for the first time last weekend and I already find myself looking at the wind every 10 minutes and wishing I wasn't at work.

You are a 16-year-old girl and you ditch hanging out with all your friends because there's the slightest possibility the wind may come up today....
